Tilawkaguru Caves is a Buddhist monastery located in Sagaing Hill, near Mandalay, Myanmar. Built in the late 17th century, the caves are known for their impressive wall paintings depicting the life of the Buddha, as well as the lives of people during the Mon dynasty.
The caves are accessed via a narrow staircase that leads to a series of interconnected tunnels. The walls are covered with colorful murals, some of which are over 300 years old. The paintings depict scenes from Buddhist mythology, as well as daily life in Myanmar during the 17th and 18th centuries.
Tilawkaguru Caves is a popular tourist destination, and visitors are often able to interact with the monks who live in the monastery. The caves are also a popular pilgrimage site for Buddhists.
