Thousand Pillar Temple, also called Saavira Kambada Basadi or Tribhuvana Tilaka Chudamani Basadi, is a major Jain temple in Moodbidri, Karnataka. Built in the 15th century, it is dedicated to the Tirthankara Chandraprabha. The granite complex is celebrated for its large assembly of individually carved pillars and is the most prominent of Moodbidri's group of historic Jain basadis.
Thousand Pillar Temple remains a place of worship as well as an architectural landmark. Visitors travelling from Mangaluru should allow time for the road journey to Moodbidri and may combine the visit with other Jain heritage sites in the town. Modest clothing is appropriate, footwear must be removed where instructed, and photography restrictions should be respected. Current access hours should be confirmed locally before travel.
