Temple de Hirsch Sinai is a Reform Jewish congregation with synagogues in Seattle and nearby Bellevue, Washington. It is the largest Reform congregation in the Pacific Northwest.
History
The congregation was formed in 1971 by the merger of Temple de Hirsch and Temple Sinai. Temple de Hirsch was founded in 1899 and named after Baron Maurice de Hirsch, a Jewish philanthropist. Temple Sinai was founded in 1951.
Architecture
The Seattle synagogue is a historic landmark, built in 1960 in the Mid-Century Modern style. It features a large sanctuary with a soaring ceiling and stained glass windows. The building also includes a social hall, classrooms, and offices.
Activities
