The Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary, also referred to as the Phansad Bird Sanctuary, is located in the Raigad district of Maharashtra, India, about 140 kilometers south of Mumbai. Established in 1986, the sanctuary encompasses an area of around 52 square kilometers, consisting of forests, grasslands, and wetlands, making it a haven for diverse flora and fauna.

Since vehicles are not allowed inside the sanctuary, exploring Phansad is best done on foot. The terrain is hilly with some steep climbs, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes with good traction. The lush greenery and the sounds of nature will surely rejuvenate you, making it a great escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
