The Mysore Palace, also known as the Amba Vilas Palace, is a historical palace and a royal residence located in Mysore, Karnataka, India. It is considered one of the most famous tourist attractions in India, after the Taj Mahal, with more than six million annual visitors.
The current structure of the Mysore Palace was built between 1897 and 1912 after the Old Palace burnt down. This new structure is also known as the New Fort. The palace is a three-storied stone structure with marble domes and a 145 ft tall five-storeyed tower. The architecture is a blend of Hindu, Muslim, Rajput and Gothic styles, resulting in the Indo-Saracenic style.
