Mon Village is a Mon community area associated with Sangkhlaburi in western Thailand, close to the long wooden Mon Bridge across the Songalia River. Visitors encounter wooden houses, monasteries, local food and cultural traditions shaped by the borderland history of Mon residents.
Cross the bridge on foot, dress respectfully around temples and ask permission before photographing residents. Early morning is atmospheric and cooler, but visitors should avoid treating the community as a performance. Use local guides or businesses where possible and note that Khao Laem National Park is a separate nearby destination.
