A Legacy of Royal Ambition
Construction of the Jama Masjid began in 1839, envisioned by Muhammad Ali Shah, the third Nawab of Awadh, to rival the Jama Masjid in Delhi in scale. Though he passed away before completion, his wife, Queen Malika Jahan Sahiba, ensured its completion in 1845.
Mughal Grandeur in Lakhauri Brick
