Delhi Ridge is the northern extension of the ancient Aravalli hills and the capital's most important natural landform. Its dry forest and rocky outcrops survive in several sections: Northern, Central, South-Central and Southern Ridge. Together these landscapes support wildlife, historic sites and biodiversity parks while providing an essential ecological buffer within the city.
The Ridge is not one continuously accessible visitor park. Choose a recognised public site, such as an authorised biodiversity park, city forest or sanctuary entrance, before setting out. Some areas are protected, fenced or subject to permits. Remain on approved paths, avoid isolated sections after dark, carry water and follow Forest Department or park-specific access rules.
