The Arignar Anna Zoological Park, also known as the Vandalur Zoo, is the largest zoological park in India. It is located around 31 kilometers from Chennai Central and 15 kilometers from Chennai Airport. Established in 1855, it is the second oldest public zoo in India.
The zoo is spread over an area of 602 hectares (1490 acres), including a 92.45-hectare (228.4-acre) rescue and rehabilitation center. The zoo houses a wide collection of flora and fauna, including 2,553 species of animals and plants.
